About Our Publication

The Modern Whig Leader is the civic journal of the Modern Whig Institute, an independent, nonprofit, member‑supported research and education foundation. We publish clear, accessible analysis on American governance, institutional health, and the real‑world forces shaping civic life.
Our Mission
We aim to strengthen the civic fabric by promoting the fundamental American principles of representative government, ordered liberty, capitalism, due process, and the rule of law. Our work is nonpartisan, historically grounded, and focused on practical understanding rather than ideological heat.
What We Publish
The Leader features several recurring series:
• The Sunday Wire — reflections on history, culture and institutional behavior
• The Monday Brief — a theme‑setting argument to frame the week ahead
• The Signal — short, timely commentary and updates on Institute news
• From the Policy Halls — research notes, subject series, freestanding articles
Together, these form the Institute’s public voice and its commitment to civic clarity.
Membership
The Leader is supported by members of the Modern Whig Institute. Membership provides access to all Institute publications and helps sustain our mission of civic research and education.
